Bloghog finale

Saturday June 20, 2009

Today we are leaving to head back home but we missed the group that left at 5:00 am this morning due to the fact that we had too much roster of the gully roosters last night. Not sure what time we headed to the boat last night but I do know it was way too late.
We left out at 8:00am and one of the engines was not running right so as I sit here writng this John is in the engine compartment changing out the fuel filter as we drift. So the rest of the day is uncertain.

Last night was the capton's meeting at the buff house with the final dinner, which consist of fish ,chicken, salad and of coarse rice and peas. They handed out the awards and we missed receiving any. Most of the awards were revolved around the trip over and since we did not cross with the edgewater group …. No rewards.

So we finally got underway around 9:00 am and stopped at West End for fuel and made it to West Palm around 3:00 pm. We loaded up the boat and had to go South to the airport to go to customs. We picked a spot to stop at 9:00 pm. Palm Shores. We got to the hotel and they said that you cannot eat past ten so we detached the trailer, sprayed on cologne and headed 4 miles to Flagler Beach and had a great dinner on the deck looking at the beach. Boy it sure is wonderful to pay US prices for meals again.

We are back at the hotel where we can sleep without our feet hanging off the bed and we can actually keep the water on in the shower and turn around. I think the bed is larger then our entire cabin on the boat.

We will give a final report tomorrow after some much needed sleep.
