Well we finally got this blog thing figured out and our internet parameters more friendlily. Today is day #? I know it is Thursday. 7:20 pm. This morning we went grandkids shopping in town and got a cable for Judi’s camera so we can continue sending photos. We had a camera disaster in Hopetown. I could not figure out how to revive it after an accidental drop in ten feet of water.
Dunmore town is like a little New York City or Santa Domingo. You can get anything there you want. By the way the island is only about 3 miles long.
We had some fabulous Ahi tuna at Acquapazza Restaurant here at the marina for lunch. It was on par with Bob Kofke’s. It is the best restaurant on Harbour Island and possibly in all of Eleuthera. The picture of the owner Haymo and his beautiful daughter are below. Alexandra was 12 years old today and had a big birthday party with all her classmates.
After spending the afternoon on one of the most beautiful beaches we have aver seen I am sitting on the boat watching 100 foot yachts cruise the harbor like 20 footers on Lake Norman. There is about a 150 footer here at the marina with a full crew including a chef/. We met the first mate and he said he has been on the boat for two years continuously. I bet they don’t even ask the price of fuel like we do. Those boats must be much cheaper down here.
They are having a Junkanoo party at the yacht club next door so we have some good music to listen to. We decided not to go since it is from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The real ones start early and last all night. I guess the yachties like it quiet after dark.
We are facing another weather decision for the next few days. It’s about 60 miles of open ocean back to Abaco and we don’t want any more gray hair. The decision of our next port of call will be made at dinner where we have internet connection and can digest the weather forecast. Saturday was our planned return to Green Turtle Cay but that will be a windy day so we will either go somewhere else in Eleuthera and go late to GTC or go tomorrow.
We will update the route in the morning. Hello to all our family and friends. We miss you.
